Which Massage is Right for Me?

A World Scientific 2001 study showed “massage therapy can be effective for stress relief.” Massage lowers cardiovascular responses, promotes sleep, and may ease symptoms of autoimmune diseases and chronic pain conditions.

It is normal to experience some sorness after a massage. After stimulating muscles, you may experience delayed onset muscle soreness. This is a physical response to inflammation as your body heals. Regular massage decreases soreness as your body starts healing.

Please inform your therapist if pressure ever needs to be adjusted to your comfort level.

  • Swedish Massage

This is the most basic and widely known massage modality. It involves a customized combination of soft, long kneading strokes that ease anxiety and nervous tension, relieves muscle aches and pains, and promotes full-body relaxation. Also Improves circulation and flexibility.

  • Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is not a stronger version of a Swedish massage. It involves a technique of sinking into muscle tissue with firm pressure in order to realign muscle fibers, release cellular waste and toxins, ease tightness, and break up scar tissue and adhesions. This slow technique helps to restore proper function to overused muscles and surrounding fascia (connective tissue) to alleviate chronic joint and/or muscle pain.

Deep Tissue massage also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation in soft tissue.

For continued results, a weekly or bi-monthly massage routine is recommended until symptoms resolve.

  • Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone massage is used to help deeply relax, ease tense muscles, and rejuvenate tried muscle tissue using heated basalt stones and traditional Swedish massage strokes.

This treatment is especially nice in the colder winter months!

  • Prenatal Massage

Relieve the tension, aching muscles, and physical stress that come with carrying a little one!

A traditional massage with a therapeutic focus on relieving swollen feet, back aches, and leg cramps, while improving circulation, reducing nervous tension, and promoting a sense of calmness and well-being.

Available through all stages of a healthy pregnancy.

Packages of 3 or more are available at a discounted price.

  • Advanced Deep Tissue

This massage session involves intense muscle manipulation to address chronic tension, injury, or surgery recovery.

ADT is used to address trauma due to accidents, new and old injuries, whiplash, and falls.

Using more advanced techniques of muscle stripping and friction, pinning and stretching of stuck or tight muscles, and the deactivation of trigger points, we will help to restore balance and function to areas of pain and discomfort. This is very effective for accidents, injuries, whiplash, and falls.

Gua Sha and/or Cupping therapies are included in this massage as needed or requested.

  • Medical / Therapeutic Focus

Our Medical / Therapeutic Focus massage session is available in 15 or 30 minute appointment slots with more affordable prices than our longer sessions. This is perfect for those short on time or those who have localized pain due to recent injury or surgery.

Massage techniques, when applied correctly by an experienced therapist, can help speed up recovery and healing of the affected areas. Please let us know if you’ve recently suffered an injury or have had any recent surgeries and your appointment will be customized accordingly.

  • Sports Massage

A customized deep stretching of all major muscle groups.

Sports oriented massage increases joint range of motion, improves symptoms of tendonitis, aids in removal of lactic acid, addresses stiffness in the limbs, tense muscles, ligaments, or back pain. Massage also reduces the risk of muscle injury when performed regularly.

  • CBD Massage

FULL SPECTRUM 1000-3,000 MG >.03 THC oil is used for this treatment.

CBD is a topical analgesic that triggers the body’s natural endocannabinoid production, which helps restore biological harmony and resets the nervous system, thereby helping to reduce stress and anxiety.

The CBD oil we use is high quality, tested for purity, and costs $150/oz.

    Benefits of a CBD Massage:

    • reduces post-workout soreness and muscle fatigue

    • decreases back, shoulder, and neck pain

    • assists with arthritis pain and joint inflammation

    • helps with sore feet, plantar fasciitis, or bunions

    • helps with fibromyalgia pain

  • Reflexology

Unlike a tradition foot massage, reflexology utilizes points on the feet that correspond with different parts of the body by stimulating or relaxing the more than 7,000 nerve endings on each foot. Reflexology treats the entire body through the feet and is beneficial for everyone.

  • Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries. When inhaled, the scent molecules in the oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain, and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain, which promotes a sense of well-being. There are also numerous benefits when essential oils are applied topically.

  • What to expect:

    • Please wear comfortable, modest clothing to all CST sessions

    • At your first session, the therapist will have you fill out an intake form and will interview you on specific details regarding your symptoms an medical history

    • You will be lying on your back on the massage table for most if not all of the session

    • The movements and pressure will be light, about the weight of a nickel so as to address the craniosacral system and fascia. No traditional massage techniques are performed

    • Kindly inform the therapist of any questions or concerns you may have before the session

    • Talking should be kept to a minimum to allow the therapist to concentrate and the client to release tension and relax

    • In the days following your session, any change you feel within your body is a good sign. CST continues to work for days or even weeks after a session as the body’s healing response works to release restrictions within the craniosacral system and the body as a whole.
